Sam and Josh Mark are brothers that graduated from Cornell in 2013 and 2016, respectively. It was important to them and to Sam’s wife, Gabi, to empower their Jewish successors at Cornell with a way to feel proud about being Jewish and simultaneously embrace a mitzvah recorded in the Torah. In Josh’s words: “When my brother and I were thinking of ways to give back to the Cornell community, we gravitated towards the idea of mezuzot because they provide the opportunity for a simple, accessible mitzvah that has a beautiful underlying meaning. Each time we pass through a doorway and kiss the mezuzah, we are reminded of our peoples’ past and our own identities as Jews. We are excited to share this mitzvah with other Cornellians.” We wish Sam and Josh well in their endeavors and thank them for making this project available! |
